Why while writing a complaint do you ask for a Steam URL?

Tue May 30, 2017 9:59 pm

Greetings!  :hai-there: This is Fierdsvain_Huscarl for those who don't know me. I have been an old player to the Minisiege server and I enjoyed playing it ever since I first got Napoleonic Wars. I am writing today because I have a question for you all. In your complaints folder, you people ask for a Steam URL. Which is pretty odd to write a complaint if the form asks for a Steam URL since it is not necessary in my opinion to have a form asking for a Steam URL while writing a complaint. But I do see why you all ask for it while writing an Admin Application. (Obvious reasons). But in my opinion, I really do not think it is needed to have a form requirement to put in a Steam URL to their profile, but do let me know if I missed something important. I created a poll because I want to see what other people think.

Thank you!
Fierdsvain_Huscarl

P.S. I do not want anything extreme. This is just a question that was just floating over my head for quite some time.

Hello, Thanks for doing this pole. I think when it come to putting your Steam URL in to something, I believe that you should defiantly leave it in the post that people do, as this allows the people who run the site or admins to contact you if needed if something needs to be sorted quickly. Thats what I think on the matter. Thanks!

I do see your point on that. But I really do not know why the people who run this site or the admins need it... They could just private message the person, or just respond to the message here in the forum... So I really doubt that having a Steam URL while writing a complaint makes sense... Plus some people really don't feel comfortable giving out their Steam URL such as I. Which is another reason on not having a Steam URL be mandatory in a complaint.

Thank you for your time,
Thank you,

Well, I guess the whole thing is over... but I still don't see the point of it.  :-_-:

Hello there Fierdsvain_Huscarl.

The only reason i can think of in why we ask for you steam id is that we may want to contact you quickly with your problem and maybe get it sorted out that way, instead of waiting for a reply on the forums because i'm sure you don't sit here on the forums all day waiting for a reply (maybe wrong).

if you don't like using your steam Id as you have said then please do just ask a senior admin or Management to see if they will need it or not.

Best wishes George_Fifth
