Should buffs be enabled?

If buffs are enabled, The troop limits may/ might be:

Flags: 5% to both teams
Officers to 5% to both teams
Musicians to 10% to both teams
Commander class will be a limit to 1 commander on both teams (Spawns with horse on cavalry maps and without horse on non-cavalry map).

Yes vote from me and I think these settings sound balanced enough to start out with. We can always adjust when/if needed

Yes vote from me and I think these settings sound balanced enough to start out with. We can always adjust when/if needed 
Agree with all this. I like the sound of adding back the buffs

I asked Highlord today about the buffs and a few points need to be brought up as to why we can't do buffs:

1: Apparently some buffs bug the game for arty.
2: Flags can be used (If you're the flag bearer) to crash the server (unsure if fixed but is 1 reason as to why it was disabled before). Even if you could fix the crashing and there were only like 2 flags per team, you can still use them to block the likes of artys views whilst they are aiming by waving them around.
3: It will add too much lag to the server, the server is bad enough in it's current state and adding buffs will surely add extra strain to the server. 
4: I think bonuses are only able to be set on or off, not turning certain buffs off (Such as turning off the officer buffs). I'm sure a script can be used to change this, but I'm not sure.

I would like to set class limits myself, allowing like 4 musicians per team with buffs enabled, but i'd imagine another script and some other things will be required to overcome the issues that buffs may present. This would make these classes useful and not useless, but i'm not so sure if we can actually do it.

About the Flags, Max already fixed the problem regarding them. As he pointed out in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=64&t=732
"I think that I fixed the problem where flags would remain for a long time where they were dropped, thus allowing trolls to block the view. So I don't know why they are disabled again. Just re-enable them in the server files."

To resolve the problem with lag, We just need to remove a bunch of objects from the maps just as Maximillian pointed out here: viewtopic.php?f=87&t=949
In this example. Max pointed out objects and performance and too many objects can be buggy for most people.
"- Tons of objects were added. Have you even considered performance? That's what people do when they don't know how what to do on their map: they fill up rooms with tons of objects."

To be honest, Most players don't really care with the artillery buff. it glitches reload bar (According to my experience playing Man vs. Bots Rebirth) but It isn't really that bad.

The server will lag with more strain of the scripts / the buffs, it isn't just objects that will lag the server. Yes, less objects mean better performance but more scripts will mean more problems and conflicts on the server itself, look at spyglasses for example, such a simple thing needed to be disabled because it conflicted with things on the server.

Like I said myself, I would like certain buffs, but I've been told by the Head Admin and Owner themselves it isn't possible. I will discuss in further detail with someone later if there is a workaround, but these are the points I had to point out to you, before more players are directed here thinking it's a given to occur.

Well I had also fixed the problem with arty train, just removing the arty train itself. But that was some times ago, the modification might have been removed from the server files, so it should be checked on the test server.

I don't think that flags could cause much harm if they despawn shortly after being place on the ground, that's how it used to work on Minisiege.

Now I don't know why officers were removed. One possible reason is that the script file was edited, arty train came back, so we disabled officers, and forgot to re-enable.

Regarding buffs it's very well possible that they would decrease performance and that was probably the reason for which they were disabled.

It that case maybe we should merge this thread with the original buff thread and remove the poll for now, until things are discussed further between the higher-ups.

I personally think that it should be as well. Cuz other wise the Musicians are pointless. Plus if your all 'Ehh i dont know' then just try it out, it wont hurt. :)
